Canine Good Citizen (CGC) – 6 Week Course Beginning 11/3/22 @ 6:00pm

A canine Good Citizen is a dog that is well behaved around people and other dogs and in public.
It is an AKC sponsored activity for both pure bred and mixed breeds. The concept of a Canine Good Citizen is that all dogs should be trained.
To become a Canine Good Citizen, the dogs will be taking a small test to evaluate the dogs ability to behave in an acceptable manner in public.
We will be doing a 6 week training program and at the end of the 6 weeks will be taking the CGC test.

The examination:

1. Accepting a Friendly Stranger
2. Sitting Politely for Petting
3. Appearance and Grooming
4. Out for a Walk (Walking on a Loose Leash)
5. Walking through a Crowd
6. Sit and Down Command
   Staying in Place
7. Coming when Called
8. Reaction to Another Dog
9. Reaction to Distractions
10. Supervised Separation
